It’s Saturday. I’m overwhelmed AF. I feel like I have 5 billion things on my to-do list and yet I sat on my butt most of the week making excuses and reading blogs. I know everything is going to kick in to overdrive next week because there are deadlines and I need to get on them, but for now I’m all about being lazy, living in sweats, and reading blogs.
The other stuff will still be there in a few days, right?
Plus, I admit that I’ve been completely sucked into Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath since I discovered it on our Apple TV. It’s so twisted! It’s like the people from Westboro Baptist Church. I mean, they are crazy in very different ways but still, it’s insanity. I take a lot of crap from some people because I don’t attend a church. I have a very strong faith but I keep it primarily between me and God. I talk about it. I blog about it. I share it. I just don’t put myself in a position to have my faith or my life controlled by anyone other than the Lord himself. I know I’m starting to get a little soap-box-rant-ish so I’ll stop but damn that Scientology stuff just kills me. I’m so glad Leah is sharing her experience. If you haven’t seen it, it’s worth checking out.
Let’s just move on with weekend links, shall we?
Weekend Links Vol 6
1 // These homemade cinnamon rolls by The Merry Thought. I always do store bought cinnamon rolls but homemade is always so much better.
2 // Keeny Peach shared a collection of vegan ice cream from Ben + Jerry’s. Since Brandon has to minimize dairy I’m always scoping out vegan or dairy-free ice cream options.
3 // I love this reclaimed wood wall from The Lettered Cottage. It really improves a bedroom and it looks fabulous! After we move, I’m doing this. My Dad has a ton of reclaimed wood I can use.
4 // SF Girl by the Bay shared info about sourcing vintage artwork. I didn’t love the pieces she chose but I love the concept.
5 // This tutorial about how to paint rusted metal from All Things Thrifty is super helpful! I don’t have a need for it right now but I probably will soon so I bookmarked it for future projects.
I know the links are kind of light this weekend but it’s Mother’s Day and I can’t cope. I’ve been crushed and devastated over yet another year without a child of our own. I’ve been actively avoiding all mommy-related blog posts, pins, Instagram posts, Facebook updates, etc. It’s just too hard.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Enjoy your time with your families.
