Weekend Links #5

Weekend Links volume 5 from Far Beyond Love

My only plans this weekend are sleeping and binge-watching Netflix.

I’m still trying to catch up from traveling to/from West Virginia and going back to the office without a day in between. Admittedly, that’s all I’ve done since we got home on Tuesday night. I went straight to bed so I could wake up for work on Wednesday and it was rinse + repeat for the rest of the week. I used to be able to take trips like that no problem but now I’m either old or exceptionally lazy.

The posts I published this week were written weeks ago and just saved for the lazy day when I was so tired I couldn’t drag myself to the keyboard. I know those days crop up from time to time and I like to have a few posts I can just drag into the calendar and press publish. It saves my sanity and takes the pressure off, although I know no one would be chasing me down if I took a few days off. It’s really NBD. I just feel a self-imposed obligation to publish new posts. It’s weird. It’s a blogger thing. I can’t explain it. The only post I wrote was We Left Our Hearts Behind because I needed to whine a little bit about how much I already missed West Virginia.

While I’m aboard the honesty train I’ll also admit I barely cooked this week, dressed like a slob, and barely read any new blog posts. I did, however, spend far too many hours on Pinterest. I found a ton of DIY things I’ll probably never make but at least dreaming about doing them kind of makes me feel productive. Really, I’m not sure if how I’m feeling is laziness, exhaustion, or depression over leaving West Virginia after a great trip. Whatever it is, I hope it goes away soon because it’s crummy.

Anyway, here are some of the links I’ve loved this week. Most of them were found via Pinterest and I’m not sure how old they are. It shouldn’t matter though, don’t discriminate based on blog post age. A good read is a good read.

1 // I love this fantastic hidden dog gate the Newly Woodwards shared on their blog. When Brandon and I buy our house I’m totally installing one of these. It seems easy enough to do.

2 // This cold brew coffee pie from The Domestic Rebel absolutely caught my attention. I mean…it’s cold brew coffee + pie! What could possibly be wrong about this? She swears it’s easy but I haven’t tried it yet so I can’t confirm.

3 // A Spectacled Owl shared beginner tips for starting your own herb garden and it was a fantastic resource for a person like me. I can’t seem to grow anything but I’d love to have my own herb garden. I might try this year (no promises).

4 // This boxwood wreath in the foyer I saw on Stone Gable blog is gorgeous! I pinned it about a billion times because I love it so much and I want to be able to recreate the whole look soon.

5 // I saw this Sweet Georgia Peach Smash from Pizzazzerie on Pinterest and it stopped me in my tracks. Sweet? Peach? Cocktail? I am SO there! Plus, it looks really pretty.

6 // This eclectic balcony makeover from Paper N Stitch made me feel crazy envious. I’ve lived in my apartment for 2 years and it’s not even close to being this gorgeous. Jealous? Of course I am!

Last week Brandon and I got a new Apple TV so we’ve been really enjoying messing with it lately. We watched the latest Underworld movie. It was a lot better than the last one. I might be willing to say it’s my favorite of the series but it’s hard to say. I love Kate Beckinsale and all of her movies. We also started watching Leah Remini’s Scientology: The Aftermath. We cut cable so I didn’t see it when it was on live but it’s on my radar. I’m so glad to finally have time to just nestle in and watch it. 🙂
