Weekend Links #11

Last week it felt like I had nothing to say and this week I’m overflowing with words. Feast or famine, it’s always that way. As I sit here tonight I’m excited! We have family coming in tomorrow night to celebrate my dad’s birthday and for the local 4th of July festivities. I get to see my niece again and meet my nephew for the first time. There are going to be barbecues, bonfires, and a lot of new memories made. Every year the 4th of July weekend is one of our family favorites.

Last week was my brother’s birthday and my husband’s birthday. Next week is my dad’s birthday and the 4th of July. It’s just been a whirlwind of preparations and parties. Not to mention Brandon and I are planning our first summer road trip. There is just so much coming up and I’m trying hard to keep it all organized. Oh, and our garden is coming in so that’s exciting! I never expected to have such a passion for gardening yet here I am, crazy excited over tomatoes, haha.

Weekend Links

1 // This perfect summer picnic for two from Pender & Peony is so cute! Plus, I love the orzo salad recipe she includes in her blog post.

2 // I hate cauliflower but these grilled cauliflower steaks with chimichurri sauce from Dishing Up the Dirt sound amazing! I’ve never had grilled cauliflower and I’m willing to give it a try.

3 // We’ll be doing a lot of traveling this year and The Lilac Press is sharing two style tips to help you stay comfortable.

4 // Girl About Columbus featured Elm & Iron on her blog and I kind of fell in love with the place through her photos. We are planning a day trip there soon and now this shop is on my must-see agenda.

5 // This list of things about being a kick-ass woman that The Bluegrass Mom learned from being fatherless is powerful and all women should read it.

6 // Southern Bite shared incredible loaded brisket nachos and they are desperately making me wish my husband wasn’t a vegetarian. They look incredible!
