My Most Trusted Blogging Resources

A comprehensive list of the blogging resources that I rely on to keep my blog online and operational.

This post includes affiliate links. Thank you for supporting the brands that support Far Beyond Love.

This year saw a lot of change and growth for Far Beyond Love and as I’ve reflected over my EOY numbers I’ve been really impressed with the growth I’ve seen, both in traffic and in income. During my last email series I asked my subscribers what questions they had for me about my blog and what I do for a living. One of the more common questions was about the blogging tools and resources I use to keep my business running smoothly.

Now, I have a resources page right here but I still decided to break it down for you and share which tools I use on a regular basis to run my blog and keep it growing.

My Most Trusted Blogging Resources

These are all the items that I either use on a regular basis or that I rely on to passively support my blog.

A Small Orange

I use a small orange to host my blog, my parent’s business, and a host of other websites. Their hosting plans are very affordable (they start at approximately $5 / month) and I have experienced very minimal downtime with any of my websites. Additionally, they offer 24/7 customer support which is great for night owls like myself and are very accommodating. I’ve had hiccups here and there since I switched to them but compared to my previous hosts (GoDaddy and HostGator), working with A Small Orange is a dream.

Genesis Framework + Restored 316 Designs

I list these two together since I use them collectively for the design of my blog. I purchased my current theme through Restored 316 Designs and Restored 316 Designs builds their themes to work as child themes to the Genesis Framework. In non-blogger terms – you have to upload and activate the Genesis Framework before you can upload and activate a Restored 316 blog theme

I’m a bit notorious for constantly changing my blog theme but I will tell you that I always seem to come back to Restored 316 Designs. She’s fabulous and the aesthetic of her blog designs is very simple and feminine.

MailChimp and ConvertKit

I use both MailChimp and ConvertKit for my email marketing because they have very different strengths and I have very different goals when I compare this blog to my business website. My emails for Far Beyond Love are managed through MailChimp but my emails for my business are managed through ConvertKit

I use FreshBooks to manage the accounting and the figures for Far Beyond Love. FreshBooks helps me to quickly and easily manage the expenses of running my blog as well as the revenue generated from affiliate links and sponsored content.

I used to do it all manually but manual accounting is for the birds! FreshBooks has helped me keep my expenses and income organized which is insanely helpful when tax time arrives.

BoardBooster helps me manage my Pinterest account by pinning for me on a schedule I predetermine and by looping pins (meaning it repins things over and over again to maximize the views on each graphic). BoardBooster helped me increase my followers from 700 to over 3,000 and it moved Pinterest from one of my worst traffic referrers to my top traffic referrer. Thanks to BoardBooster, I get more traffic from Pinterest than from all of my other social networks combined.

I can’t compare BoardBooster to Tailwind because I’ve never used Tailwind but BoardBooster is amazing for me.

Creative Market

Creative Market is one of my top go-to creative resources. I’ve used Creative Market to purchase new fonts, new photographs, new graphics, new icons, and new blog themes (remember: I’m a notorious theme-changer). I use it to find resources not only for my blog but also for my business site and other online businesses I manage. It’s by far my top creative resource and a total online gem.

There is no monthly recurring fee for Creative Market, you just pay for what you purchase, and they offer freebies every Monday so it’s basically a must to get signed up.

There you have it friends! Those are my absolute must-have tools and resources that help me keep Far Beyond Love online and operating. Without them I would be a hot mess. 🙁
