“Whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace be to this house!'” – Luke 10:5 ESV

Lately Brandon and I have been talking quite a bit about buying a home. The first few years of our marriage have been full of moving (first to Alabama, then back to Florida, then to a different town in Florida, then to Georgia, then a different Atlanta suburb, then another different suburb) but it’s now finally to feel like we’ve found our spot and are able to begin really thinking about laying down some serious roots. That means it may finally be time to invest in buying a home.

We’ve kept putting it off because I kept saying that I wanted to feel permanent if we were going to buy. If there was a chance we might move again, I’d rather just rent a place. Now that we’re finally feeling rooted I’ve been re-inspired to begin really building a home in our current apartment. This past weekend I ran around Atlanta doing a bit of home decor shopping.

Also – oddly enough, my home is decorated in very muted, soft, peaceful colors. It’s the exact opposite of my blog space.

I’m also fortunate that my husband doesn’t care one bit about how I decorate our home. As I ran around from Target to HomeGoods to Hobby Lobby to Bed, Bath, & Beyond he just smiled and encouraged me to buy whatever I liked. That’s why I’m linking back up with Ember Grey for a little Grateful Heart Monday. Of all the link-ups in the blogosphere this is one of my favorites. It’s easy to be caught up in the Monday blues so this is a fun way to connect with friends and share reasons to be grateful as the new week begins.

I thought I’d slightly test my husband’s whole, “I don’t care how you decorate…” attitude when I spotted this rose gold mirror at HomeGoods (scored for only $30!).

He loved it. We haven’t bought our new dining room table yet (although I have chosen one) so that space is pretty empty at the moment but that mirror is beautiful!

I also picked up a new tabletop lamp from Target, new shelves for our master bathroom, and a succulent for either one of the shelves or one of the tables in our living room. Honestly, I don’t really know what I’m doing when it comes to home decor (I don’t really have an eye for this stuff) but I’ve been really inspired by my blogging friend Dani from Comfortable Spaces. Every time she has a new post I want to get rid of everything in my home and start over (kind of like I do with my blog).

So I’m feeling really grateful today. #todayisagoodday

I’m feeling grateful for a husband that indulges me, a home I’m feeling content in, and blogging friends that continue to inspire me.

Let’s Talk…

What are you feeling grateful for today friends?
