How to Install WordPress on A Small Orange

How many times have I written about A Small Orange? More than I can count, that’s for sure! I love them and I recommend them to everyone all of the time. Last week I realized that although I’ve given you a thousand reasons why you should host your blog or website with them I’ve never actually told you how to install WordPress on A Small Orange so you can get started. Let’s fix that, ok? If you want to host your blog on A Small Orange (and you really should!) you need to install WordPress so you can get to designing your blog and writing your first post.

Create an Account or Log-In

If you don’t have an account on A Small Orange you’ll need to create one and purchase your domain name. If you already have an account, you need to log-in.

Navigate to Your Services

Once you’ve logged in click on Your Services to access your hosting plans. If you haven’t purchased a hosting plan go ahead and pick one up for your new domain. I use the small plan which is only $5 / month.

After the Your Services page opens click on View Details to open the hosting details for the selected domain.

Access Your cPanel

After the View Details page opens click on Login to cPanel at the bottom of the screen. A tutorial for installing wordpress on A Small Orange

Install WordPress

Once you’ve accessed your cPanel you can install WordPress. Scroll to the bottom of the cPanel home page and find the header labeled Softaculous Apps Installer. Click WordPress. This will begin installing WordPress on your A Small Orange hosting account. All you have to do now is set your custom configurations and you’re done. Hooray!
