Friday Favorites #7
Happy Friday friends! This Friday I’m happy-dancing all over the place because we are one week closer to our trip to Walt Disney World to celebrate my niece’s 3rd birthday at the Magic Kingdom. I can’t wait to get down to Florida and see her adorable little face soak in the magic and wonder of Disney. It’s going to be such a fabulous time and I just cannot wait for it to get here.
If you want to follow along on the trip while I’m away I recommend following me on Instagram because that is where all of the Disney love will be going on. I’ll recap it on the blog when I get back. In fact, Disney offered up courtesy passes for my husband and I for our trip in exchange for me sharing the trip with you all when I get back (although, honestly, I’d have shared it with you anyway because #Disney #Birthdays, you know what I’m saying?).
Now, here are this week’s Friday Favorites:
1 – This Ladybug printed one-pocket popover blouse from NY & Co. I loved this shirt when I bought it in-store two weeks ago and when I wore it this week I received 4 – 5 compliments on the fit and the print. Ladybugs, FTW!
2 – This striped perfect tee I grabbed from The Limited during their Memorial Day sale. It was only $10! It’s super soft, perfect for spring/summer, and my husband said that even though it is striped it made my chest look larger and my waist look smaller. That’s would have been worth full-price. 😉 I bought the green stripes, if that matters.
3 – I love this Yogi Bedtime Soothing Caramel Herbal Tea to drink just before bedtime. I can’t do coffee at night because the caffeine will keep me up until 2am or 3am and I don’t like it enough to bother with decaf. With this tea I can drink something warm late at night and still get to bed on time.
4 – Red lips! I am not usually much of a make-up person but I wore bold red lips over the weekend (with that ladybug shirt) and I’ll be damned if I didn’t get a lot of positive attention for it. It made me feel good and I’m thinking I may do it more often.
5 – This list of 22 things every woman needs in her life from The Art of Simple. It’s a list unlike a lot of those other ‘must-have’ lists and I found myself in agreement with her on every single item she listed.
6 – This really cute polka-dot top from ModCloth. It was on sale for 50% off and I couldn’t resist it (I lovvvvvve polka dots!). I just bought a new pair of white shorts and I feel like together, that’s just a really cute summer combo.
7 – DreamBone’s Peanut Butter dog bones. These are basically the great things ever for my dogs. They love them and they keep them occupied for at least an hour. I stopped at the store on my way home the other day specifically to buy a bag of these for my dogs. Sometimes I just need my lap to myself, you know?
8 – This simple guide to start saving money from Becoming Minimalist. I saw the headline and thought, “There are a million tutorials out there to help start saving money; what could possibly be the minimalist version?” Then I read the article and was like, “Oh, yeah, that’s minimal” but it definitely works.
9 – This Aveeno nighttime moisturizer has saved me lately. I bought the Tarte Amazonian Clay foundation from ULTA a few weeks ago and while the coverage is amazing it has this really annoying little habit of drying out my skin. It’s a bit ridiculous to have dry skin during the summer so I snagged that Aveeno nighttime cream to do a little repair work. It’s only been 5 days and I’ve already noticed a big difference. 🙂
10 – The awesome response to my Simplify by 55 challenge.I remember thinking, “Wow, it will be so cool if I can get 25 people to sign up! Mayyyyybe 50 if I’m really lucky!” but no, y’all way exceeded my expectations and over 225 of you signed up during the first week. That’s awesome, just so awesome. 🙂
